Seminarians attend weekly human formation conferences that are offered in the College Division during each year of formation. Various topics regarding growth as a Christian man
are expounded upon under these area:
- Human Development and the Four Areas of Formation
- Self-Awareness and Understanding as a Basis for Maturity
- The Life of a Virtuous Christian
- Living a chaste life in the world today
Pre-Theology
Conferences are also offered in the Pre-Theology Program. The Pre-Theology Program is designed, in the area of human formation, to allow men who have graduated from college and possess more extensive life experience to concentrate on the development of a sense of fraternity and an appreciation of the wholesome relationships that should be found among seminarians and priests. As the pre-theologian prepares to enter the Theology Division, he must realize that his maturing process continues on every level of human development. The topics addressed are based upon:
- Mature Human Development and the Four Areas of Formation
- Chaste living and an understanding of celibacy
- The ascetical life of Christian discipleship
- Healthy relationships and community living
Theology
The conferences in the Theology Division continue to build upon the human formation addressed in the College Division and Pre-Theology programs. The topics addressed in the four years of theology are based upon:
- Preparing for and Living Priestly Celibacy
- The Ministries of Reader and Acolyte and Ministry as a Deacon
- Service and Leadership
- The Identity of the Diocesan Priest
