On Wednesday, September 21, 2011 Philadelphia's new Archbishop, Charles J. Chaput O.F.M. Cap. made his first formal visit to Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Upon his arrival, the seminarians, faculty, administration and staff, lined the front of the College Division building to personally greet His Excellency.

Following the warm welcome, Archbishop Chaput celebrated Mass for the entire community. The evening's festivities continued with a special Rector's dinner complete with presentations from Rector, Reverend Shaun Mahoney and each of the student council presidents, Mr. John Kuchinski (IV College, Diocese of Harrisburg) and Reverend Mr. Anthony Hangholt (IV Theology, Archdiocese of Philadelphia).
