Sixth Annual Saint Charles Seminary Classic was held on Monday, April 21 2008
For the second year-in-a-row at the prestigious Philadelphia Cricket Club, golfers took the greens aiming to help the Seminary. Despite the overcast skies, the rain held off as the day began with registration and a lunch buffet. After a challenging day of golf the guests were treated to cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
Reverend Monsignor Joseph G. Prior, Rector of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, welcomed the guests to the dinner and announced the winners during the awards ceremony. The evening continued with our keynote speaker, Mr. Kevin Reilly, a former Linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, who has turned a career and life-altering tragedy into source of strength with those he shares his story. Mr. Reilly stressed the importance of our Catholic Faith in times of tribulations and reminded his audience that it is Faith that is carried out by the seminarians at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Proceeds from this year’s outing will support the renovation of Saint John’s Dormitory located in the College Division, where currently more than thirty seminarians reside.
