Pope Francis named Bishop Nelson J. Perez, Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Centre, N.Y., as 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, Ohio. Bishop Perez graduated from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in May of 1989. He also received his Masters of Divinity degree and Masters of Arts degree in Theology at St. Charles. Congratulations and many blessings to Bishop Perez.
Please join us as we pray for him and the people of the diocese of Cleveland. Bishop Perez will be installed at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. The appointment was publicized in Washington D.C. on July 11, by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States.
