Seminarian Attire

Resident College Seminarians: Students in the College Seminary wear collared shirts and black pants during the course of the day. During liturgical functions, such as Mass and other solemn occasions, college seminarians wear a cassock and surplice. For more information about these vestments, see the informational links below.

Resident Theology Seminarians: Students in the Theological Seminary wear clerical shirts and black pants during the course of the day. During liturgical functions, such as Mass and other solemn occasions, theologians wear a cassock and surplice. After Diaconate Ordination, deacons also wear stoles and/or dalmatics for Mass and other liturgies. For more information about these vestments, see the informational links below.

Resident Pre-Theology Seminarians: Students in the Pre-Theology Program wear the same attire as students in the Theological Seminary unless instructed otherwise.

Spiritual Year Seminarians: Students in the Spiritual Year wear clerical attire on certain occasions and other attire on other occasions as instructed by the director of the program.
