Deacon Charles G. Lewis, M.A.
Instructor, School of Diaconal Studies
Deacon Charles G. Lewis is a graduate of the Fund for American Studies at Georgetown University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics from DeSales University and a Master's Degree in Religious Studies from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia.
He currently instructs men in formation for the permanent diaconate. He teaches courses in sacramental theology, ecclesiology and moral theology. He serves on the advisory committee for the John Cardinal Foley Chair of Homiletics & Social Communications.
Mr. Lewis is a former adjunct professor at DeSales University (Center Valley, PA). He taught the introduction to theology courses as well as courses in fundamental moral theology, sacramental theology, ecclesiology, church and family life, contemporary medical moral issues and human sexuality.
By day, he works for the Catholic Leadership Institute (Wayne, PA) as Senior Vice President for Philanthropy. Previously he worked in vice-presidential positions at Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health System (Philadelphia, PA), the Lehigh Valley Health Network (Allentown, PA), and St. Mary Medical Center (Langhorne, PA). He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, the Association for Fundraising Professionals, the Public Relations Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
Mr. Lewis is the husband of Anne (Hagerty) Lewis, M.F.A., Assistant Professor, Theater, at DeSales University, and proud father of four children, one granddaughter and three foster children.
