Deacon Charles G. Lewis, M.A.

Instructor, Permanent Diaconate Division
Deacon Charles G. Lewis is a graduate of the Fund for American Studies at Georgetown University.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics from DeSales University and a Master's Degree in Religious Studies from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia.
 
He currently instructs men in formation for the permanent diaconate.  He teaches courses in sacramental theology, ecclesiology and moral theology.
 
Mr. Lewis is a former adjunct professor at DeSales University.  He taught the introduction to theology courses as well as courses in fundamental moral theology, sacramental theology, ecclesiology, church and family life, contemporary medical moral issues and human sexuality. 
 
By day, he is the Senior Vice President, External Affairs for Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  He reports directly to the President and CEO and is a member of the Network Coordinating Group and Senior Management Council.   He is responsible for marketing, communications, public affairs, creative services, social media, web, community relations, call center, media relations, government relations and philanthropy.
 
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, the Association for Fundraising Professionals, the Public Relations Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
 
Mr. Lewis is the husband of Anne (Hagerty) Lewis, M.F.A., Assistant Professor, Theater, at DeSales University, and proud father of four children, one granddaughter and three foster children.
