The faculty, staff and students of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary are entitled to check out library materials.
Borrowing privileges are extended to the community through a paid membership of $15 for 6 months and $25 for 1 year. An application for borrowing privileges must be filled out and at least one type of identification, preferably a driver’s license, will need to be presented.

Materials may not be renewed if requested by another patron. The library reserves the right to immediately recall any materials needed by Saint Charles Seminary students or faculty.
Students enrolled in off-campus courses are entitled to the same privileges as on-campus students.
Overdue notices are sent to borrowers as a courtesy or reminder. Any student, however, who has materials overdue at the end of the semester will have his or her grades and transcripts withheld until the materials are paid for or returned.
Borrowers are responsible for returning all library materials promptly and in good condition. Otherwise, they will be charged for the losses or damage.
- Study rooms are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
- If a room has been reserved for use, patrons must observe any signs alerting them to the time when the room is needed.
- The rooms are only available to groups of two or more – not single persons.
The classroom is for use by the faculty and students of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary only. If a faculty member would like to use it for a single class period, he or she may do so by contacting Cait Kokolus (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Students and faculty are given preference for the use of the study carrels. Visitors may use empty carrels when available. The study carrels may be reserved only by faculty and MA candidates.
Any student or faculty member who wishes to leave items on a carrel overnight must check them out at the circulation desk and place a note on the carrel requesting that the books not be re-shelved. Books left on the study carrels without a note will be re-shelved.
If a librarian finds personal books left on the study carrels, they will be held behind the circulation desk for a period of 7 days.

The Library’s membership in local consortia both widens the resources available to Seminary faculty and students and makes its collections available to students from other colleges and seminaries. With the appropriate documentation, students and faculty receive borrowing privileges at participating schools. The following rule apply:
- Free membership with a current school ID.
- Letter of introduction signed by a librarian at the patron’s home library
- Expiration date is set by the home library.
- Borrowing privileges for Ryan Library are the same as those for a paid membership.
