The John Cardinal Foley Symposium & Award Dinner
Vianney Hall Auditorium

This annual symposium, celebrating World Communications Day, begins with a public forum from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursday, May 24, to discuss the theme and the message written by the Holy Father for this global celebration. The 2018 theme is: "Fake News and Journalism for Peace.”  A Mass will follow at 5:00 pm in the Immaculate Conception Chapel. The banquet follows from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm during which two awards are presented. The Foley Award, given to a media professional for excellence in communications, will be awarded this year, posthumously, to Tim Russert. The award will be accepted by his son, Luke. The second award, the Foley Award in Social Communications, is given to the young adult winner of a video competition that communicates the theme of the World Communications Day.
