Apostolic Formation
All seminarians in the College Seminary receive a Thursday assignment for their apostolic formation. Seminarians in First College are assigned to an in-house apostolate in which they serve the seminary community. All other seminarians in College receive a placement that allows them to directly serve people in need (e.g., nursing homes, prisons, residences for people with disabilities, soup kitchens, etc.). The goal of apostolic formation in the College Seminary is for the seminarian to grow in charity by serving people in need and to understand the relationship of their service to their overall growth as well as their on-going discernment of a priestly vocation (PPF #256).
