Financial Aid Checklist

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

1. Available 10/1 at studentaid.gov
2. Priority date for filing is 04/15
   1. Priority date is 04/15 to be considered for the State Grant if you are a PA resident.
3. FAFSA will take approximately 1 week for processing before it is sent to the school.

PA State Grant

1. May 1^st is the deadline for submitting the FAFSA to be considered for the PA State Grant.
2. Monitor student & parent correct email addresses listed on FAFSA for emails from PHEAA for instructions on setting up your GrantUs account
3. Submit any documents or information requested in your GrantUs portal.
4. Notifications for the PA State Grant will begin in June.

SCS Application for Financial Aid (sent to seminarians via email)

1. Should be completed and submitted by April 30, 2025

Financial Aid letters will be sent via email during the months of May and June. The letter must be signed and returned 15 days after you receive the letter.

Students borrowing federal loans for the first time while attending SCS must complete Entrance Counseling and the Federal Direct Master Promissory Note that can be found at studentaid.gov 15 days after accepting the federal loans listed on the financial aid letter.

Seminarians graduating from the College must complete the required Exit Counseling 15 days before graduation. An email is sent with instructions to complete the requirement as well as making an appointment for an in-person meeting if needed.
