Intellectual Dimension
Each day, the seminarian in the Propaedeutic Year spends two hours in classroom instruction on various topics, such as the Bible, the Catechism, History of Spirituality, Spanish, Liturgy, and the Theology and Practice of Prayer. The goal of this education is nothing less than total familiarity with Christ and His Church. Time is regularly set aside for the seminarian to quietly study and read, so as to build a capacity to know Christ and to stay in communion with him. The practice of meditation on Sacred Scriptures by means of meditation and the art of Lectio Divina are also taught. Each is also given an education in major figures in the Catholic intellectual tradition, such as St. Augustine of Hippo and St. Therese, the Little Flower.
