Dear Vocation Directors,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to learn more about St. Charles Borromeo Seminary! Thank you for your interest. As a proud alumnus, it always gives me great to joy to share about our beloved institution, and all that it has to offer. We consider it a privilege to collaborate with our sending dioceses and religious orders.

Our program encompasses every stage of formation, including:

A free-standing, fully accredited College Seminary
A two-year Pre-Theology Program
A Theological Seminary

Effective Fall 2023, St. Charles Seminary will offer two distinct Propaedeutic Year programs – one for those entering Pre-Theology, and one for those entering College Seminary. The duration of each program is one full calendar year (August – July). We will also continue to offer our Spiritual Year for those in need of additional time in the Discipleship Stage.

At the beginning of the 2023-24 year, total enrollment was 147 seminarians, representing the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and 14 other dioceses and religious orders from across the country and around the world.

We are soon to enter an exciting new period in our institution’s history, as we prepare to relocate to a new campus in Gwynedd Valley, PA for the 2024-2025 year. Construction is well underway! Please check the homepage of our website regularly for details or click on the link below.
