The Word on the Streets

The Word on the Streets

The Catholic Preaching Institute will sponsor an ecumenical sermon series during the celebration of the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity each January.

This series seeks to draw people of faith together with inspiration for Christian discipleship that will radiate beyond the neighborhood. 

In the course of three evening prayer services, a clergy member from one Christian denomination will preach in a neighboring church of another denomination. 

The focus of the sermon series will be the biblical text chosen for the Week of Prayer and/or a topic of contemporary social concern to the local congregations.

The Word on the Streets

The inaugural sermon series takes place on JANUARY 20-22, 2026 in the neighborhood of Chestnut Hill, PA – historically known as “Philadelphia’s Garden District.”

Services will be held each evening at 7:00 p.m. in the following churches:
