Father Irenaeus Dunlevy, O.P. was ordained to the Priesthood for the Order of Preachers (Province of St. Joseph) on May 23, 2020. He currently serves St. Charles Seminary as the Dean of the College Propaedeutic Year and as Adjunct Professor for the Systematic Theology Department. He currently teaches Human Formation and Perspectives of Catholic Belief, which focuses on Catholic Church doctrine and its integration in one’s moral, intellectual, and spiritual life. In his previous position at Providence College, he taught elective on the theology of architecture and the Dominican intellectual tradition. Additionally, he has taught the ancient philosophy segment for the College’s Development of Western Civilization program. Fr. Irenaeus longs to pass on the wisdom of Thomas Aquinas while also engaging contemporary questions concerning humanity, prayer, and architecture.

Prior to entering the Order of Preachers, Fr. Irenaeus worked for an award-winning religious architecture firm, served as professional critic for Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture, and was awarded the school’s Director Award for his Master’s of Architecture thesis: “On Ornament: a Catholic Cemetery for Philadelphia.”
