The Church Music Association of America (CMAA) Music Project

The Church Music Association of America (CMAA) began a major project of updating its web presence in the fall of 2022. The non-profit organization has a team of web developers, and has expanded its online resources to include 8 major areas:  Gregorian Chant, Sacred Choral Music, Organ Repertoire, Recordings, Literature, Teaching Materials, Spanish and Singing the Mass.

The “Singing the Mass” page focuses on the Church’s vision for a Sung Liturgy, particularly on Sunday.  St. Charles Borromeo Seminary has partnered with the CMAA to produce eleven YouTube videos on how to “Sing the Mass”.  These videos are high quality audio recordings made in St. Martin’s Chapel by our own Archdiocesan College Seminarian, Peter Stauffer and Dr. Nathan Knutson, Chair of Sacred Music.  The recordings are also instructional, with the sung orations and readings from the patronal feast of Ss. Peter and Paul, June 29.

The Singing the Mass page catalogues all eleven videos along with other sung liturgical resources and can be found at: https://www.churchmusicassociation.org/liturgy/
